VIRTUE MINES

by themirrorandreflections

A beautiful day to you, my wonderful family members. It’s been a week since I last wrote to you, and I trust that it was a productive one. It’s funny, but yet a reality that with every passing second, January keeps fading out. When was it that we were greeting our loved ones with “welcome to 2023!”, and now we’re almost done with the 17th day? Time has been flying, and I trust that you’ve been making the best use of it.

Today’s post is the third for the year, and I’m super grateful for your commitment to reading every blog post that has been popping out of here. I am also filled with gratitude for your reposts and recommendations. There’s no way I’ll forget to welcome you, a special guest that has come to be a part of the family. It’s a safe and happy place to be in, and you are in for a good time. I’ll ask that you check out other blog posts after reading this, and I look forward to reading your thoughts and comments.

Today, we are going to be exploring a significant mine which I call “The Virtue Mine”. I understand that there are mines serving different purposes (both constructive and destructive), but the one we are building on or drawing from right now is the constructive mine, that highly treasured location where wealth is dug out.

It’s so beautiful that we have the knowledge of natural resources right from primary school days, and Current Affairs even gives us an idea of where they can be found. And as the brilliant minds that we are, we can relate to the correlation between these resources and wealth, or what qualifies them to be wealth. Now, let’s talk about why we have the term “virtue” and the word “mine” placed together. Shall we?

I don’t know if you’ve ever thought about this, but let me bring it to your reading and hearing today. You are not just a body with breath in your nostrils, this vessel of yours also houses abilities that are beyond numbers. Hey, you are a gold mine! I love that you are opening up your mind to that truth because it’s a great thing to discover.

When you were being formed, your Maker was not in a hurry at all. He had all the time in the world in His hands, so He had the time to invest so much in you. When you expend much energy and time on getting something done, you see to a perfect ending for that assignment. It’s not a joke or just a collection of words that please the ears, not at all! You are really fearfully and wonderfully made, a total package!

Words of affirmation and positive declarations are beautiful and powerful, but it isn’t enough to just release them. It’s going to take a lot more to see that those words play out and come into existence for you to see. In addition, there’s a world that also wants to see the beauty of what you carry. You have to believe that.

Like the physical mine, you have to dig into your person this year and discover these hidden treasures that you have been carrying about for years. This is where those quiet moments you have can be really helpful; those times of deep meditation. It’s the period to ask questions and get your answers. It’s time to let those ideas rise to the surface.

Do you know that these ideas or answers can be forgotten just as fast as they come, and you have to prevent that from happening? Yes, that is where your journal and pen come to the rescue. Never let those precious materials out of your sight. Another great tool that has been made readily available is your phone, and that’s always handy. Have you been making use of your notepad, diary, and other documenting applications that you downloaded a while ago, or should I just walk away in peace?

Apart from your alone and calm moments, I believe you know that another blessing you have is having eye-opening, defining conversations. Some great ideas have been waiting for just a conversation to get stirred up. As the year progresses, you need those chats that can bring the answers you’ve been waiting for, and you will have them.

After discovering these valuable revelations, you need to put some structures in place to get them working. This is where self-development comes in. It is what you’ve discovered that you can develop. So, what action are you going to take in the direction of self-development today? Are you reading a book, taking a course, or seeking mentorship? All that comes to your mind and can put and push you further on that path is the real deal.

There is something that a good number of us are guilty of, and it is not paying due attention to ourselves. More often, we celebrate and long for the strengths and abilities of other people. It is a beautiful thing to do to appreciate the great things that others are doing. However, it won’t hurt if we do the same for ours and do not leave them unattended.

I am aware that there is this pressure that makes us feel like what we have going or what we are doing is not as great as what other people have, but that has a wide gap from the truth. You are not at a disadvantage at all. If only you will pay more attention to yours and unwrap the package, you will discover that you have been covering up a special endowment the whole time.

Another thing that affects us is being scared of the outcome of what we haven’t even tried. It’s quite funny, but it is the truth, and we see this playing out a lot of times. Because of this crippling fear, we’d rather sit around than do nothing. That zone has now become like the safe zone, which it was never meant to be. We’ve found comfort in a place where we should not be comfortable. Hey, I’ll say it’s time to dispel the fear, get on your feet, and be on the move.

When you put in the work, you will be amazed at just how exceptional you are and the result you have. However, it’s something that you have worked on that you can get a result for. If there’s no work, there will be no results to show.

I have a request to make, and I hope you’d grant that request. It’s to stop seeing yourself as an extra. See, you are the main character in this movie that is being shot every day. God Himself called you to be on this set, and He already wrote out the script to be a happy one. As many as we are on the surface of the earth, we all are main casts. Guess what, to think that no one is affecting the other makes it more beautiful.

If I’ll summarize all that I’ve written above, this is what I’ll say: You are a virtue mine. The virtue you see there is a collective word for all the deposits of greatness in you, and you are the only one that can spell them all out. I hope you will be willing to discover and dig them out this week, this month, and for the rest of the year.

This is where my keyboard and hands get to rest for today. I am always grateful for how every blank sheet gets filled with ink, it can only be God. Remember to share your thoughts with me, I’ll be happy to read them. Till I come your way next time, enjoy peace and bliss!
