Hey, family! You are welcome on board to the first post in 2024! For real, it’s been 16 days since we said our “Happy New Year” to one another, and we’ve had to put 2024 into all of our writings. I trust that the year has been a beautiful one for you so far, and you haven’t been slacking in working towards the better version of yourself that you desire to see.
I know I had put this out previously, but believe me when I say that I can never get tired of being full of gratitude for your support at every point in time. 2023 was an awesome walk with you in this space, from having you read the posts to getting your feedback and contributions. I do not doubt that 2024 is going to be even beautiful in every sense, as we take a ride towards all-round self-development together.
Allow me also to take a moment to make a renewed commitment to serving your greatness through this space, as we reflect on thought-provoking issues and writings that revolve around who we have been called to be. I trust that every post you will be reading here will not just be like the breeze, but it will stir and put you on the path of fulfilment in this journey of destiny. Remember, you are a top priority!
Seeing as the journey has started already, and we’re making progress by the day (I mean, it’s already day 16), there is a consciousness that you must carry along by the minute if this year will be any different and even be the best of years you’ve spent so far as you have prayed and hoped for. Do you wonder what is this all about? Just stay with me!
I know I have many scholars and brilliant minds in here, but please permit me to put in a few words about who an Emissary is. There are different pictures we can paint here, but the common one would be that an Emissary is “a person sent on a special assignment, often to represent the interests of someone else, be it a very important personality, an organization, a kingdom, or even a country”.
You must take this into account first; emissaries are not just ordinary people. Wherever you find them, the honour bestowed on them is of the same weight as that of the entity whom they represent. Would you like me to give you an instance? Here, you have it in the next paragraph.
If a Royal father has been invited to grace an occasion with his presence, but cannot be there in person for one reason or the other, whoever is sent to represent him accompanied by the Royal Staff is given premium honour that befits the authority he represents. It would almost seem like the Royal father was there in person.
I would like you to put yourself into the example written above. As you forge ahead in this year, journey with the mindset that you have been sent by Someone, and you are in whatever position, opportunity, sphere of influence, sector, or space you occupy to represent His interests.
Be it in Education, Health, Media and Entertainment, Technology, Government, Religion, Family, or Business, always carry the understanding in all your operations and dealings that you are not just there on your own. You are an ambassador of a brand- THE GOD-BRAND!
This is not just something to make you feel important, it’s an established statement found in 1 Peter 2:9 of the Holy Bible. It says “But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do His work and speak out for Him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference He made for you”. Do you see it? You are not ordinary!
First, you have been chosen by God to represent the Kingdom. He chose a space in which you can function effectively, and through which He can bring out the best in you and show you to the world as His representative. He didn’t just stop at that, He also endowed you with all the resources that you need to get the job done in a way that people will see it and wonder who this amazing being (you) is.
You see, it is what gives Him total pleasure and joy that we stand out and excel in all that we do and wherever we are to represent Him. It gives Him such a Proud-Father feeling, knowing that His son or daughter is busy doing exploits where He has sent Him and also making His name famous.
Now that you have the understanding that you have been sent out to function as a Representative of a Kingdom and you cannot afford to fail, having been blessed with an array of resources to get the job done more easily and effectively, what should be your response and attitude towards the assignment? How do you represent the Owner of the assignment well?
The first way to do great in your assignment is to acknowledge the One who has sent you in the first place. As a representative, you cannot get to the place of execution and start to do as you please. The role must be carried out as He had instructed, and trust me, it is best that you follow His recommendations and guidance. You can never be wrong with Him in the picture.
This is a call to you today to always involve Him in all that you do. Let Him be right at the centre. Make sure to seek guidance from the very beginning, not when you have gotten the job done halfway, or towards the end of the assignment. Let Him in right from the point where the idea first comes to you as a thought, and then together, be sure to walk through the planning and implementation together. Why struggle on your own when you can easily follow a Sure Guide? Act wisely!
I’ll say this next; excellence is key if you are going to make the Owner proud. Whatever your hands find to do, do it well. As you journey forward, let excellence be named as part of your core values and personal branding. Let it be something for which you are known and a standard from which you will never fall. If it is a tag that even people around have placed on you, it’s a beautiful thing.
Leave no stone unturned, and do not even attempt to function below your capacity. Don’t just go about carrying out your duties with the average mindset when you know that you can go the extra mile to make that task noteworthy. In all sincerity, give all that you do your very best.
In addition, always remember that the Kingdom you represent stands for order and balance. Therefore, see that no aspect of your life suffers on account of the other. You have been endowed with the capacity you need to put a balance to all that you have to do. Also, this is where your core values come in.
Be sure to place a priority on the things that matter at every period. You are a holistic being, and you should live every day from that same point of view. Every aspect of your life counts. So, I urge you to pay maximum attention to everything- your spiritual life, your emotions, your relationships, your finances, your health, your career or education, your business – indeed, all that you have been called into.
This should not be forgotten; be open to continuous training and acquiring the skillsets required to be the best at what you do. Seek knowledge constantly by every medium that can aid your self-development. Read books, go for courses, attend seminars and conferences, engage people who are doing well in your field, and just stop at nothing when it comes to self-development. In all, the goal is to be equipped.
Excellence does not just come overnight, it comes at a cost. Some prices must be paid. It might not be convenient at the time, but the result will always be worth the energy you have put into it. As you go after knowledge, your mindset, which is the seat of power and ability in you starts to get renewed, and you are opened up to greater creative possibilities.
This note will not be complete if we do not address upholding strong moral values as opposed to vices. As an emissary, you should not get involved in anything that can tarnish the image of the Kingdom you represent. You are not one to be found in shady deals or questionable situations. Be very transparent, let your yes be yes, likewise your no.
As you raise the banner of the Kingdom for everyone to see, and successes are being credited to your account, remember the One who truly deserves all the accolades. Never cease to acknowledge Him for all the recognition you receive. Remember, it is His ability in you that has made the difference.
Guard your heart jealously! Never get to a point where you raise your shoulders to Him or start to feel like things are falling in place simply because you are putting in a lot of hard work. Always remember that your efforts are not being frustrated because Someone is working in the background.
If truly the little things count, and a bit here and there ends up becoming whole, there should be no aspect of your life that you should hide from Him. It’s not like you can hide it anyway, but what I’m saying to you, in essence, is not to put your life into compartments or get to that point where you feel like “I can handle this one on my own”. Be it the little or big things in your life, He is always willing to extend a hand of help, if only you would take it.
Having read to this point, I hope you now have a better understanding of WHO you are and WHOM you represent. If this understanding is deeply seated in your consciousness and travels everywhere with you, then you can be sure that you have better days ahead and right at the corner. You are about to have an awe-filled year, I know it, and I’m sure you do too.
