Dearest member of the TMAR clan, welcome on board to the first post after the blog’s 3rd Anniversary. We clocked 3 years on the 18th of October, 2025, and out of many words to say which cannot even justify how faithful God has been to us as a family and as individuals, I implore you to join me in saying “Thank you Lord for the past 3 years” as you read this. I remember how this move started, and indeed, we have seen His hand at work in no small way. To this end, once again, I acknowledge the God of TMAR for 3 years and more to come!
What’s an Anniversary without people to celebrate with? My tribe member, I am deeply grateful I have you to celebrate with. It was so wholesome receiving your goodwill messages on 18/10/2025. Thank you for the goodwill messages and for loving this space and the face behind it. Your active support and words of encouragement have been so helpful in our ride to this present moment. I humbly pray that you will never lack men when you need them, and God will always show up in all that concerns you. I love and celebrate you!

In the last post, we got started on the topic ‘In the Silence’, which could mean a period or phase in a person’s life in which things seem to be falling out of place. It could be that time you feel so ordinary or like there’s nothing special about who you are. We also checked out a classical example- The life of Joseph beginning at his father’s house, the challenges he faced, and the dark moments he passed through, up till his triumphant landing as a Prime Minister in the Palace of a strange land. You can read the post by clicking here.
We will build on that topic in today’s post by drawing lessons from Joseph and seeing how it applies to us. We will also talk about how to navigate those quiet seasons till we reach a point where we acknowledge that indeed, God has been in the details the whole time.
I’ll start by telling you that your relevance isn’t defined by the number of medals or wins attached to your name, or the activities that revolve around you. Hmmm, that sounds quite difficult to believe, right? Perhaps a thought is already forming in your mind, and you’re wondering “If my wins and achievements don’t define me, then what does?” I love that you asked the question, and I’ll answer it in a bit.
You see, many of us tie or associate our relevance to the circles we belong to, the titles in front of our names, or the tables and gatherings we’re invited to sit at and make contributions. Once these are not in the picture or none of these appear in our faces for a while, we start to question our importance and identity.

Well, I’m here to tell you today that you’ve got a bigger definition than all that we’ve mentioned earlier. Your sole source is God, and He’s the One who defines you. Every other identity that you might have should stem from your understanding of who God has first called you- He said you are His.
I’d like to write out a verse from the Bible; actually, let’s make that two. The first is Isaiah 43:1 which reads “But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine” (NKJV). He is your All in All. Therefore, when you feel like you’re losing yourself and you can’t seem to figure out who you are, remember Who defines you!
The second verse we’re checking out is the latter part of Luke 12:15, and it tells us that “Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot” (MSB). Another version says that “one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses” (NKJV).
Note that this is not in any way to discourage you from living out your full potential, tell you to be satisfied with just living the average life, or refuse to enlarge your capacity when God is telling you to do much more or commit more into your hands. No, not at all! Rather, what I’m trying to say is that even when there’s no glam or camera in sight, and when you’re not at the centre of any big achievement, ensure you don’t lose your true identity and worth!

Having established the understanding of who defines you, He should also be the One from whom you draw joy. Yes, many things get us excited and happy now and then, but again, they only come with temporary satisfaction. Your joy source cannot be tied to just the exciting moments in your life. Even in the silence, when you feel there’s no ‘extra’ backing up the ‘ordinary’, remember your chief joy!
Here’s another thing to note and not miss out on; Even in the silence, He is still speaking! That still, small voice of direction is very much present and willing to walk you through that phase. A lot of times, we are so fixated on what we want to see working, we are so set in our ways that we don’t pay attention to what God is saying and the course He’s charting for us.
Hey friend, there’s an instruction for you even in this silent season. There’s something He wants you to place more focus on, and there could also be something He wants you to shift your focus away from. No matter how little the instruction may seem, pay attention to it and obey.
Still in the spirit of instructions and obedience, learn to stay faithful and committed to all that He has asked you to do. Sometimes, we are guilty of desiring new instructions or breakthroughs when we haven’t even followed through with the previous instructions we were given. Thus, take a moment to reflect right now; what are those long-standing assignments that you are yet to get started on and run with? Resolve to obey those instructions beginning from now.

As you navigate the silent season, let your love for God be evident. Honour Him in whatever capacity you currently occupy and don’t try to rebel. Take a look at Joseph, the fear of God in Him was evident everywhere He went, and even when Potiphar’s wife was after him. He didn’t see his position as an opportunity to rebel. He understood that though He was sold into slavery, God’s hand was still upon him for good, and He made his firm standing known.
Although ‘the silence’ can be a difficult place to be, don’t make it your perfect excuse to shift away from God. Instead, see the positive side of the situation. Learn to see the good in all that is going on in your life currently, always bearing it in mind that all things work together for your good because you love God and you are in His will.
Also, let trust be your armour! Be assured that your life can never be mismanaged when it’s in God’s hands, and you are not wasting away. Know that God sees you! A lot is going on behind the scenes even though you don’t see it. By the day, you are being led in alignment with purpose, and sooner than later, everything is going to make sense to you.
Even when the situation around you says otherwise, remember the words that have gone ahead of you and hold on to them. There is power in your confessions, therefore speak positive words only. Even if you don’t have a personal word, be encouraged and bask in the promises of God for you that lie in the scriptures. These words were written to give and rekindle hope in you, so, hold on to them. Write and say them out loud, carry them as an image in your heart until they become your reality.

In spite of what you may be going through, love people genuinely and show that you care. Don’t allow your situation to rid you of being kind and extending grace to people. One of the things that stood out to me in Joseph’s story was how he cared enough to notice the sad expressions of Pharaoh’s chief butler and chief baker after they each had their troubling dreams. It’s safe to say that the little attention he paid to them was a significant part of what marked the eventual turnaround in his life.
What if he didn’t care enough to see their sad faces, ask them what was troubling them, and interpret their dreams? Would Pharaoh’s chief butler ever have had to remember there was a man who interpreted his dream when he was in prison? Joseph was remembered for the little act of kindness he showed years back at the appropriate time. Again, love people genuinely and show up for them when they need you.
May I also mention this? There is always someone who has gone through the phase you are currently at and has shown up on the other side of victory. Therefore, be encouraged by the testimonies of other people. Joseph went through all He did and emerged as a testimony. You’re not just reading or hearing about him for knowledge’s sake, it’s also meant to be a reassurance that you can end up as a Victor as well.
Hey, there’s someone out there who is also going to be comforted and inspired after reading or hearing about your testimony. So, you have to imagine and see the best possible outcome only! See yourself on the winning side, keep going, and don’t give a chance or thought to defeat.

I’ll wrap up with this; you might come in contact with people who don’t know how to offer or utter words of encouragement along the way. Some might even mean well, but their words and counsel do not just align with the positive image you have in mind. By all means, maintain a healthy environment!
Wow, this is how far we have come today! I pray that you are endowed with the wisdom, strength, and comfort needed to navigate this phase, and that you are always confident in the reality that you are not alone. I am rooting for you and for the exploits to come through you. Please, remember to leave a comment about a lesson you picked from the post. Enjoy the rest of your week!❤️
