CASTING CARES

by themirrorandreflections

“I have strength for ALL THINGS in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]” (Philippians 4:13, AMP).

Dearly treasured reader, it’s been a minute. I welcome you to yet another post on the blog series. I hope you’ve been faring well despite the fluctuating economic status in the country. Thanks for seeing this space as one to always return to. I appreciate your dedication, and I say that you will always enjoy the gift of men.

It is no longer news that in the past few months, we have witnessed a very serious shift in the cost of living. It is so funny and disturbing at the same time that you start a day with a certain price for a commodity and end the day with almost double the price for the same.

This and many other factors are consistent sources of concern for us. However, despite the current wave that threatens to sink our moving boat, we can be certain that we will survive these hard times. We have an Anchor to which our boat is attached, and he’s going to see us through this season. Keep your head high with hope alive.

Let’s get down to the business of the day. Yes, you read the title right, it’s “Casting Cares”. Many times, we liken cares to just worrying about our wants and desires. May I point your attention to something? We also sometimes give in to worry even after a long-expected opportunity or an advancement comes our way.

Do you wonder how that is even possible? How do you get on a path to progress and worry then comes knocking? That is what we will be addressing together in this post, so I’ll take a chance to invite you on this journey.

It is very possible to give in to worry when you have just been handed a new responsibility. It is that moment you start to doubt your competence or worry if you will ever meet the demands of your new role.

The weight of the crown you bear may call you to a conscious state of anxiety. You might even find yourself thinking that your prior preparations are insignificant when compared to the tasks you have to handle. If this describes the phase you are in, I have got a few things to tell you☺. ️

As prepared as we are sometimes, I don’t think that one is ever fully prepared for the task ahead. Don’t get me wrong, there are different levels of training. There are thorough forms of training that take the full extent of your capacity and stretch you. However, there could be scenarios that will take on a new form different from what you were trained with.

Let me chip in this instance. Do you remember Mathematics questions in secondary school? Examples often come in the easy form, but let them present you the questions to be solved in classwork or an assignment. You would wonder how the principles in the example apply to the classwork. Even when the example given does justice, there will still be this different element in the question that can be quite demanding.

That is exactly how it applies in the real world. There are instances where you have to carry your little prior knowledge or experience into a wider space of practice, one that is more expressive than what you have ever been exposed to.

Now, how do you handle the opportunity you’ve been given? How do you let go of the fear or worry that you might not meet the required expectation? Let’s check out a few points, and I hope you are stirred in motivation.

First, acknowledge what you have received as a blessing and not a burden. Whatever new space you have to occupy; be it a new job, a promotion at work, or in academics, having an addition to the family- see it as a perfect gift from the perfect Father. If you have prayed for it and you see it come through, be filled with gratitude.

Gratitude opens you up to a greater level of confidence and trust. It keeps in you a consciousness that the One who was behind the opportunity you received still exists and can bear you through the journey you have just begun. You are made aware that you can make it through to the end.

The second is like unto it; be open to receive help from the One who has given you that opportunity in the first place. Do not carry on the task as someone without help. If He has brought you to the assignment, He can walk you through it untouched and unharmed, if only you will seek Him for wisdom and direction.

In addition, take each day and each task, one step at a time. When you view the task from the total or whole view, it might get you worried that you have so much on your plate to settle down with. However, bear in mind that single tasks here and there sum up to be the total goal that you are working towards. In essence, do not be hard on yourself.

The beauty of every journey we embark on is that there is always someone who has been on that journey before and knows what it feels like to be in those shoes you’re currently putting on. These are people who can relate to all that the journey comes with; the happy times, the stressors, and all. Therefore, I’ll say this to you; never stop seeking wise counsel.

You must be open to accountability and speak to people who have gone ahead of you, especially those that made it through to the end of the race. You need to learn from their mistakes so that you do not make the same. Build on their achievements and be motivated to do better. If you make a resolve to dwell on your wisdom without getting help, you have failed before you even got a chance to start.

Also, always remember that this platform you’re currently standing on is yet another ground to build and prepare yourself for the next phase of your life, no matter the length of time it may take. There is yet a greater height to attain. Be therefore motivated to do your best as you learn and prepare for the next bigger and better things coming your way.

To conclude this piece, give room for the practical use of the experience you have gathered previously, no matter how little it may seem. You have undergone those series of training for a reason, and it’s for a time like this. Do not be so caught up in your fear or feeling of inadequacy that you discard the wealth of knowledge you have gained. Cheer up, you will do just fine.

It has been a great time putting this together, and I believe you had a nice reading time as well. I award you a dozen claps and more for staying with me till the end of the post. Please, do not forget to drop your comments as they are always anticipated and highly valued. Remember to always stay positive, you are loved❤.️
