Yes, it’s time for a little introduction! Victoria Akinlubi is my name, and it is such a joy to have you in this space at this time, a time in our ever-evolving, unsettled world, a time when we are faced with distractions, anxiety, unanswered questions, and the like, all wrapped in the fear of the unknown, with the “unknown” being as distinct as every individual is. We are often lost in the seeming realities around us, that the very essence of our existence (dominion) becomes a diminished shadow.
However, the Good Father has not left us clueless in our journey to perfection, as He left us with a replica of Himself; THE WORD, which for this blog post and subsequent ones, would be referred to as THE MIRROR.
Gracious as His nature, all questions and uncertainties find accurate responses in this Mirror. It is expected that we take a look and then hold our stares. No, a glance will not get the job done! I know many ladies and a good number of guys can relate well to this fact. Of course, everyone wants to look attractive.
That is why we put in the extra work, time, and energy in front of the dressing mirror. It is going to take a steady gaze to see the spots, effect the changes, and behold the radiating beauty (you already know what they say about beauty being a discovery), talk more of THE LIVING MIRROR.
Having said all of these, I hereby officially announce the name of this blog with joy in my heart, shouts, and drum rolls! Trust me, my pace on the keyboard got faster at this point. The blog is called THE MIRROR AND REFLECTIONS, and as you already can tell or guess, it is a faith-based blog. But, I have something exciting to tell you. Keep reading to get the gist.
Before my exciting news, I would like to state 5 points in a brief about the essence of The Mirror and Reflections. This blog is inspired:
- That we might behold His (God’s) face daily in The Mirror (The Word), and detect the minutest spots that exist in our innermost selves. Hebrews 4:12
- That we might keep our gaze steadily fixed on The Mirror until all spots are cleared.
- That we might discover our true beauty through the image that stares right back at us, the very reflection of the Sovereign Lord.
- That we might live every day in the consciousness of WHO we are (a whole Imago Dei), and WHOSE we are. Psalms 82:6
- That our community (everyone around us) might be drawn to Him by the beauty they see in us.
Now, here’s the exciting news I promised you earlier. I know you have some questions popping up in your mind already, which I will gladly answer here. Yes, the blog is faith-based, but it is not just faith-centered. I am sure someone has that question in mind. The posts will capture various aspects of life, just watch this space!
Subsequent blog posts will ride on the wings of our everyday life scenarios, momentary flashbacks to the precious memories we have made, some not-so-pleasant events, and personal experiences, all capped with applications from our most-treasured possession (The Mirror). I do not doubt that we are in for a jolly ride, filled with laughs, relaxation, deep reflections, and most importantly, positive transformation in our lives.
