It’s the 3rd day of June 2025, so I guess it’s not too late to wish you a Happy New Month!💃 We’re almost halfway into the year, and it is so real that the days are going by fast. In all, I wish you a month filled with renewed hope and beautiful results that justify the efforts you’ve been making.
Also, I sincerely appreciate you for taking the time to celebrate me on my birthday last week Wednesday🤭🎂. Thank you for the kind words, wishes and prayers said, I felt so honoured to receive them all. I hope and commit to serving you better in this new year. So help me God, Amen!☺️
Let’s get into the discussion for the day! I’m sure you’ve seen those two words in the title a couple of times and they also sound familiar to your ears, correct? Are you still trying to figure out where you got them from? Don’t worry, I’m here for you! They’re from one of the most popular Psalms we learnt right from childhood, and which remains many people’s choice scriptures- Psalms 23:2.

STILL WATERS depicts a place of calmness, peace, and rest. You can think of it as a state in which your spirit, soul, and body are revived, and you experience an inner newness and freshness, which radiates to the outside. That being said, I welcome you to ‘Still Waters’; your place of rest and restoration.
Amidst the noise, daily hustles and bustles, box tickings, goal-gettings, challenges, ups and downs, and all that breathing in and out brings to the table, we must find an inner peace that drives us regardless of the situation, whether pleasant or otherwise. That is the essence of coming and living in the place of ‘Still Waters’.
I have put together a few points based on my reflection and understanding of what ‘Still Waters’ should be to us, and how we can get there. Let’s check them out together in the following paragraphs.
Earlier, I gave a description, talking about Still Waters depicting a place of calmness, peace, and rest, and even more. All these attributes, benefits, or maximum level of comfort as we may see them can only be found in ONE, He who is GOD!

No matter what we go through good or bad, we can always rely on His strength to keep going. The best part is that He is always present and ever ready to help us. All we need to do is stay with Him and seek Him as we should, not just because He is our life insurance, but primarily because we value our relationship with Him.
When we hear of peace, we are often quick to think about the absence of war, storm, chaos, trials, dark seasons, and so on, which could come in any form or arise from any setting- be it career, family life, relationships, meeting up with financial demands, among many others. However, peace is being reassured and at rest, even in the midst of dark situations.
It is that confidence that stirs up joy in you despite the chaos like that popular song says. It is being so convinced that the situation you are facing will not be the end of you, even if you can’t really explain how you are going to come out of it. It indeed goes beyond human understanding, and can even get people around you wondering if you are sane or in your right state of mind. Perhaps they’re right in their judgment, or not? We’ll see in a bit!
Still Waters is, and should be the state of your spirit! It is not exactly a physical location, though there are places around the world that bring you that still feeling when you visit them. Also, these places are highly recommended for you to catch your breath, enjoy God’s gift of nature, and be re-energized. However, the calmness that comes with such environments is only temporary, lasting a few hours, days, and maybe weeks at most, to say that generously.

However, the real Still Waters talks about a lasting dwelling place for your spirit, which in turn gradually starts to affect and rub off on other components of your tripartite nature; your soul, and your body. As your soul experiences that peace, your mind is renewed. Therefore, if people wonder whether you’re in the right frame of mind or not, there are two answers to give. You are, and at the same time, you are not!
You are not because you draw your strength from a Source that is beyond the ordinary, which goes beyond how the natural human mind works. The human mind believes in logical reasoning, and right there, it’s seeing before believing. But when it comes to peace that makes no sense, believing comes first before you actually see the outcome happen.
On the other hand, you are in your right mind because your supernatural lens has influenced your natural sight, and all you can see and imagine are possibilities, regardless of the surrounding circumstances. Do you now see what Still Waters can do for you, and that it is a place to be every time, and a state of mind to occupy always?
The place of Still Waters is a point where trust is built, and convictions are strengthened. You get to lay down burdens and submit them to the ONLY ONE Who can truly shoulder them. It is a place of absolute surrender!

While you dwell at this awesome place, you might not yet have all the answers that you need or even have everything figured out, but there will surely be a sense of guidance through your process. You might receive an entire template, or even answers coming in bits and pieces.
But then, everything is coming together to give a beautiful, big picture. Embrace the process! You are at the place where insight and clarity will come to you. You will know how best to approach things going forward.
May I round up with this? If you are at that time in your life when you feel worn-out, exhausted in your mind, or tired in and out, I think that’s your cue to take that much-needed break and go for a retreat. Plan to get enough bodily rest, even as you also engage in the Word, prayers, and meditation on your life as a whole.

If possible, step out of your usual environment where activities happen, and go to that calm space. Taking breaks when you should and not waiting till you get out of shape is an even better idea. You don’t have to be gone for so long, a few days, or even a few weeks depending on how opportune you are will get the job done. Go, and come back better than you’ve ever been!
love how this body of work has turned out, because it speaks to me as well, and it even sounds like a personal note although I just returned from a short break☺️. Kindly let me know how this sounds to you in the comments, and what steps you’ll be taking to get some rest soon. Thank you for sitting through this with me today, I’ll see you next week!💫
