THE PATHFINDER

“Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD; point out the right road for me to follow” (Psalms 25:4, NLT).

Lovely family members, it’s a great delight to have you here on another Tuesday, the very second in 2023. How were the last 7 days for you? I’m sure it must have been a lot busier since the holidays have faded out completely and everyone is back on the move. No matter how busy the days have been, however, I trust that you are thriving as the days roll out. Remember to keep your hopes up, it’s going to be a great year!

Having an audience that looks forward to Tuesdays and also keeps up with feedback is a big gift that I hold so dear. It’s a great feeling, and I am grateful for you being present. If it’s your first time in this space, I welcome you with great joy. I’m also happy that you would be willing to check out other posts on the blog.

Have you ever had to set out on a journey to an unfamiliar destination or travel an unfamiliar route? If yes, you can relate more to the next few sentences. You’ve only heard of the place, but you have never been there in person. It could have been a lone journey or you were in the company of people who also had no idea of where you were going. In such a situation, I’m sure there was a guide you had to turn to for directions, and that saved your day. For many people, this is where features like Google Maps come in handy.

I’d like you to imagine not having that guide that put you on the right track till you got to your destination. I’d like you to take a flashback to the relief that shone on your face when you saw the signboard that stood a few metres ahead to tell you that you had arrived at the right location, and the exclamations you gave. I’m sure words like “omoooo, finally!” or “Thank God!” sounds so familiar now, right? These are only a few of the many possible expressions you must have let out.

Now, just take a moment to think about the stress you would have encountered without a guide. Imagine having to move around in circles, or take a pause a countless number of times to ask for directions. I’m sure that by now, you’re no longer wondering why we have that title. But we’re not done yet, we just got started. There’s someone I would have you meet in the next few paragraphs before I wrap this up.

From the very first move we took when the journey started till we finally got to where we were going, there’s this voice that kept pointing out when to drive on the straight lane, take a bend, or turn into certain streets. May I remind you that we have a Voice that has been with us before we set out on this 2023 journey? He’s still very much around, and He’s willing to point out the right directions to us. If we’ll get to where we are going, we can’t ignore that Voice.

Your obedience to the initial directive the void gave is seen in heading that route. That obedience yields more results, which is getting another instruction and at the same time getting closer to where you are going. Learning to yield in obedience is going to save us in the coming days, and it’s going to save our entire year.

Of course, we might not have a straight lane till the very end. There will definitely be turns and bends on the road. We have prayed and hoped for a smooth year, but we might still have some hills to be levelled as the days come. In all of these, remember that you have A PATHFINDER.

2023 is a year we have never used before. For a fact, we have only spent 10 days. This makes the term “new year” make sense even more. Just as the map helps us get on a path we have never been on before and yet, we ride through to a safe destination, God is doing and will do the same and much more for us.

Amidst all the variableness and shadow of turning, He is the only CONSTANT in the journey. When everything and everyone else changes, including ourselves, He remains unmoved and unchanged.

When we had no idea how to begin the journey or where to set out, our first initiative was to go for that feature on our device that can help us out. In everything we do in 2023, our first initiative likewise should be to turn to the One who can guide us through. It’s easier when we do so. It’s going to save our entire being; spirit, soul, and body.

When I checked out how the dictionary would define a Pathfinder, the description was “a person who goes ahead and discovers or show others a way”. What a beautiful and accurate pointer to who God is and what He does for us! Our confidence should stand in the assurance that He has gone right ahead, and He’s yet with us to show us the way.

I know you have mapped out a positive 2023, filled with goals and well-defined plans, but can you just take your time to seek out THE PATHFINDER? You can be assured that He has the best strategies and ideas. You can never go wrong with Him.

It’s true that I wished you a happy new year last week, but here’s to a year that is filled with ease, one that will be the best of the years you have spent so far. It’s been a wonderful time of writing, and I look forward to reading your comments. Enjoy the rest of your favoured week, you are loved!
