YOUR RACE AND YOUR PACE (2)

by themirrorandreflections

Dearly treasured, it’s yet another post in the year and the first in June. A “happy new month” coming to you after 13 days doesn’t sound so late, right? I trust that you’ve had good days in June, and I rejoice with you in the assurance that the best of days are on the way. It’s always a joy to have you around, thanks for returning.

In case you wonder why it took me two weeks to write you again, let me put out this reminder on a first note. I mentioned sometime in April, the last post for the month (THE SERVANT-LEADER) to be precise, that I’ll be putting out the posts every fortnight (every two weeks) henceforth.

The plan could not take effect in May because of the break I took, but it has now been commenced. So, we’ll have a period of two weeks between each post. An exception to this however is the first Tuesday of the month. There will be a post on such Tuesdays regardless of the 14-day schedule. I appreciate your all-time support and commitment, you are deeply valued.

In our last post, we checked out a topic that we will build on today; YOUR RACE AND YOUR PACE. We discussed the importance of enjoying this one-time race you are currently running. Go at your pace and not at someone else’s. Keep working on yourself till you see the results you desire. If you are yet to read it, kindly check it out once you are done here. Likewise, you can start from there and end it here, it’s all good.

I believe that it is not an uncommon sight to see someone miss a step or lose balance while running. We often see cases where a person even trips while walking, no thanks to obstacles on the way. At other times, it is a case of an active teenager not wanting to use the stairs properly and preferring to jump down instead. He or she decides to jump down five at a go, unfortunately, the steps are miscalculated, and boom, there’s a fall!

Well, a fall is not something we pray or hope to experience, as it is not exactly a good one to have, but the reality is that it happens. Now, the problem most times is not the fall in itself. I am certain that I am not the only one that can relate to the next statement.

When we miss our step and we trip or fall, a good number of people would quickly adjust to gain their balance or immediately rise to their feet. Did you ask why? Well, it’s because we do not want to create a scene or draw attention to ourselves. So, you see people immediately take a good stance like nothing just happened.

On the other hand, you start to suspect that there is a problem once an individual is unable to stand on his or her feet after a fall. Once this is observed, it is possible that an injury has been sustained. This takes me back to the point I made earlier; The problem is not the fall in itself, the bigger issue is your inability to get back on your feet after the fall.

What exactly is this fall that I’ve been emphasizing? I’ll say that it is whatever reason for which you might have had to interrupt a good course you have previously been working on. We have beautiful plans and goals set that we would like to roll out, and ideas that we would want to put into action.

However, once there is a limiting factor that forces you to regret going on that journey to working according to plan, or limits your ability to be motivated towards getting down to action, I’ll tag that a FALL, within the context of our topic.

A fall could be seen in failures, disappointments, discouragements, fear, lack of self-motivation, and unsuccessful multiple attempts at getting a great thing done. The above could summarize what falls mean in this regard.

This post is dedicated to everyone who is having a difficult time getting back on their tracks to keep running the good race that they have been called to. It’s the green light you’ve been waiting for, and the word of encouragement you have been seeking. I am more than happy that you came across this, and I am excited knowing that it’s the beginning of your bouncing back.

Dear one, you might have received a lot of lashes from tongues. You might have held certain words of mouth so dear to your heart that nothing else comes in, or you hear nothing other than the echoes of judging statements made at you.

Well, there’s a Voice that has been calling out and I would love you to pay attention to it; it’s the Voice that tells you that “You are not a failure, it’s high time you got back on your tracks”. It’s the Voice of your Father, and He never ceases to remind you that you still have a journey ahead of you. How about you pay attention to what He has been saying? There is yet more to be said!

When you pay attention to this Voice, you will soon realize that the echoes that have been ringing so loudly in your ears begin to follow the “reduce volume” button. I request that you pay more attention to “Yes, you can do it!” rather than “No, it’s not meant for people like you”.

Today, I challenge the warrior in you! I place a call to the inner being that never gives up. I call forth the man that is willing to take a step, take the next, and yet another until your balance is firm, and your strength becomes unbeatable. It’s a get-up call!

How about you give in to the support that you need? There is a support system around you, don’t shut them out. Just like people would sometimes come around to help a person that falls stand to his feet, there is help around the corner. Don’t be so caught up in regrets or shame that you won’t be willing to receive help.

In the same vein, you have to leave the company of tongues that constantly drain your motivation. You deserve a team of cheerleaders, people that constantly put you on your toes and ensure you are headed in the forward direction. Get you a company of future-forward individuals!

“Hmmm, where do I start from?” Start from where you are seated. Get started with having the desire for a change. Everything else is going to fall into place once you allow the bright light into your space. Think about the present and what you can do to change the situation. Cross over each hurdle on your way, taking one down at a time.

Finally, never say “never again”! If at all you are using this statement, it should be you renouncing the urge to give up. If you have discovered the cause of the fall, get to work on it and make sure you’re getting back on track with a clean slate. But for you to say “never again” to the room for improvement, no, it’s not allowed!

I leave you with a prayer for hope and renewed strength, a prayer for quickening in your inner man, a prayer for light that trashes the darkness you see and reveals to you the possibilities around, and a prayer for a company of people that pushes you to be and go for gold.

It was nice having you read through this, and I believe it has met a need. Now, we wait for great results as we work and pray. Also, I’ll patiently wait to read your comments. Till I write you again in two weeks, stay positive! You are always loved!
