LITTLE DROPS

It’s a good time to welcome you into February, dear family member❤. The largely-anticipated month of love is finally here, and I am so grateful that you are a part of it. I hope you’re still holding your spirit, soul, and body together despite the “lot” we are currently experiencing. This too shall pass, and we will keep thriving. Stay strong 💪.

I appreciate the love and commitment which draws you to this space every time. You are one in a million, and you are greatly valued. If you are new here, you are heartily welcome❤. I am so glad to have you on board, and I am glad to know that you will check out the other posts on this site. You are loved.

Let me welcome you once again into this month of love, February 2023, which has come with its uniqueness in my dear country, Nigeria. February has always been known over the years for the aura of love it carries, but this particular February has come with quite weighty challenges which have affected people in the past few days to weeks. There is no better time than to bring up this issue we are addressing today than a time like this.

The title reads “Little drops”, right? Yeah, that’s correct! When you read this, I’m very sure that what first came to your mind was water. Well, you are not far from the truth, because we will be drawing a lesson from that basic need.

Have you ever been in a situation where water was quite scarce, or to make it less serious, just unavailable at a much-needed moment? The tap had been running all day, and suddenly, the water starts coming in lesser drops or in streaks. You will testify to the fact that once this happens, we don’t just withdraw our container at once.

Instead, we retain the bucket and keep our hopes up that we just get some water for our immediate needs, no matter the quantity. In such instances, luck sometimes smiles on us and the bucket gets half-full, almost full, or we have a full bucket eventually. Imagine the joy you feel at that instance, what a nice reward for not giving up!

Here is my question to you; why didn’t you just give up and remove the bucket? Sometimes, we even go back to another activity while we leave the bucket to its fate of getting filled up. I’ll answer that question from my end, and I’ll leave you to answer yours. It’s because we believe that the little drops still count for something, especially where scarcity is the order of the day. Do you remember the saying “little drops of water make a mighty ocean”? This is where it comes in handy.

Now, how do we reconcile “little drops” with our contemporary world, the current situation in the country, and this season of love? We are just about getting to that stop, so don’t alight yet. The journey continues!

We live in a world where different factors have come to dim our sight of kindness and expressing acts of love to people. These factors range from personal past experiences, current situations like the scarcity that is currently in the air, news from the media space, and tales of unpleasant experiences from other people, among many others.

However, in this same dimly-lit world of self-satisfaction, there is an expectation of selflessness that is laid on us. You have been called a love being by He who is LOVE Himself, and He desires that your love is expressed in the little and big things. The expectation is that you live out your new name.

There is “a lot” going on with a lot of people right now, it is no longer news. Dear love being, what is that little drop of relief that is coming from you to help lighten the burden of your neighbour or loved one? It is very wrong at this time for anyone to add salt or pepper to this injury, talk more of you.

I’ll resound it a second time; you should not add to the problem on the ground by being unkind. This is the time to wear your garment of care and concern. I know that you are also hit by the wave of the moment, but the heat in every corner is not equally saturated. If you have it better at your end, I believe you are in a position to help someone get better too, no matter how seemingly little the effort is.

The “little effort” you are making to make life better for the other party is dropping into the bucket, and an impact is being made. You have no idea how that little help you’ve rendered can lift another person’s shoulder, make them see hope amidst hopelessness, and give them a reason to desire a new morning.

I challenge you to identify what that “little drop” is. It could be any resource that is of value to you, including your time. There are different situations for which people around you are seeking help as you read this, and you can witness that you are in a position to help them get a step closer to what they want. If you have come to that realization, it’s high time you made the move.

Do you sometimes wonder what brings about statements like “my dear, you just saved a life”, or “Oh my goodness, you are such a lifesaver”? It is because help was badly needed at that time, and thankfully, someone came to the rescue. You can be sure that at that point, that help counts in no little way, even if it was not something huge.

I’ll leave you with this conclusion from Galatians 6:9 which reads, “So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time”. Hy, your little drops are not falling in the basket. They are being collected in a bucket, which is going to be filled to the brim very soon. Not only will it be filled, but it’s also going to run over. I guess you can already tell where that ends, a bountiful reward!

As you progress in this week and the coming ones, identify that “little drop” that can make a remarkable difference in the life of a significant other. Don’t hold back or feel it doesn’t count. It does, and you have no idea what great impact would have been made at that point.

Now, we have arrived at our final stop for the week. It’s time to alight the vehicle😁. As you progress on your journey, I wish you a beautiful week moving forward. Remember to share your thoughts with me, as I’ll be waiting to read them. Stay happy, and stay healthy!
